What equipment do I need to play the ENGAGE™ games?
None! Just equipment that you already have available – tables, balls, cups/spoons, paint/pencils, playing cards and most importantly – YOU!
What are the long-term consequences of poor self-regulation skills?
Studies have shown that poorer self-regulation skills are associated with higher levels of social and academic difficulties at school; as well as longer term difficulties with physical and mental health, employment, and relationships in adulthood.
Who is ENGAGE™ most beneficial for?
It’s beneficial for everyone but has been shown in our research (Healey & Halpern, 2014) to be most beneficial for children with the least well-developed self-regulation skills.
How does ENGAGE™ help my child with ADHD?
ENGAGE focuses on self-regulation skill development. Children with ADHD have poor self-regulation and ENGAGE has been shown to significantly improve self-regulation skills in children with underdeveloped self-regulation skills for their age.
How do I know if my child needs help with self-regulation?
Here are five signs that a child may have poor self-regulation skills:

Difficulty managing emotions such as frustration, anger or disappointment, leading to tantrums or meltdowns.

How do I get our Early Childhood Centre into ENGAGE™?
Otago Innovation Limited owns and holds the trademark for ENGAGE, which is licensed to the Methodist Mission Southern (MMS) for delivery. Please contact MMS direct if you are interested in having ENGAGE at your learning centre.
